Utah looking to stiffen penalties for certain investment frauds

Citing a rise in cases where people in positions of influence — priests, community leaders, caretakers — defraud those that trust them, lawmakers in Utah have introduced a bill that would enhance the penalties when they use that influence to commit securities fraud. The bill was passed unanimously in committee and will move to the entire state Senate for a vote, according to the Daily Herald.
